Popular NZ House & Garden Tours Launch VIP Experiences And Sought-After Locations

NZ House & Garden Tours Launch VIP Experiences

The ever-popular NZ House & Garden Tours have become even more sought-after with the launch of VIP packages for the 2024 season.

Next year’s charity tours will feature a range of high-calibre properties in four regions across Aotearoa New Zealand – Queenstown, Christchurch, Whanganui and Tauranga.

And for the first time, the tours will offer an exclusive package option, with a limited number of VIP tickets to the Friday tours. These provide priority registration to skip the queue at the first property, house-to-house transport throughout the day, exclusive access to the tour hubs, goodie bags, drinks and nibbles after the tours, as well as interactive talks with a lifestyle expert.

“This year we've taken care of all the planning to add a touch of luxury to make the day even more memorable. The VIP tickets will be a real treat,” NZ House & Garden editor Naomi Larkin says.

Next season’s tours will showcase up to eight homes in each of the four regions. The tours run throughout February and March and also offer a lunch and ticket option or tickets only. Each tour is curated to provide an exciting array of architecture, interiors and garden styles, to ensure a diverse and unique day out. The tours are not only a great way to spend a day with friends and family, they also support Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.

“We love being able to give our readers a truly immersive experience where they can step into the pages of the magazine as they explore beautiful properties, be inspired, and delight in the details,” Larkin says. “It wouldn’t be possible without the generous homeowners who allow us access to benefit this deserving cause.”

The tours are always a sell-out, with most of the attendees travelling from out of town to explore not only a dynamic range of homes and gardens, but also the region.

The NZ House & Garden Tours are New Zealand’s largest and most-established charity house tours.

Run by Stuff Events this will be the 14th year they have benefitted Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, with more than $730,000 raised through the partnership, plus $880,000 in media advertising.

The series would not be a success without the support of hundreds of foundation volunteers who help out at the tours – often people whose lives have been impacted by cancer, says Stuff Events senior event manager Nadia Isaacs.

“What makes these tours so unique is that no two locations are the same. It really is the perfect excuse to make a weekend of it and explore other parts of the country. There’s truly something for everyone - making it a fantastic day out for  friends, mums and daughters, and NZ House & Garden readers.”

The dates for the 2024 NZ House & Gardens Tours  are:

  • Queenstown – February 16 & 17
  • Christchurch – February 23 & 24
  • Whanganui – March 15 & 16
  • Tauranga  – March 22 & 23

The house tours are open from 10am to 4pm on those dates only. You can choose from general admission tickets at $105 per person, general admission plus lunch for $135 or limited VIP tickets on Fridays, for $325 per person.
