Stuff Group acquires Wairarapa Times-Age
Stuff Group has announced its acquisition of the Wairarapa Times-Age masthead, including its digital news site and daily and community newspapers.
The Wairarapa Times-Age joins Stuff's portfolio of regional and local news products, which together form New Zealand's largest regional news network.
Stuff Group Chief Executive Laura Maxwell states the acquisition brings Stuff's scale, support systems and broad commercial opportunities while maintaining strong local journalism.
Established in 1938 through a merger of two local titles, the publication was previously owned by NZME before transitioning to local ownership in 2016. Its digital news site, daily and weekly newspapers, and weekly real estate publication reach considerable local audiences.
Stuff will maintain local leadership, journalists, and commercial teams in Masterton while connecting the title to neighboring Stuff mastheads.
