Stuff Group partners with North & South to deliver more great reading to digital subscribers

Stuff’s Masthead Publishing business has partnered with current affairs title North & South to deliver greater value to subscribers and a new digital platform for the magazine.

From today, The Post becomes the digital home of North & South’s award-winning journalism, delivering exclusive and in-depth content from the magazine to Stuff’s digital news subscribers.

Masthead Publishing Managing Director Joanna Norris says the quality journalism of North & South is a natural fit with The Post, Stuff’s national digital subscription masthead. The content will also be available for subscribers in the South Island’s digital site, The Press, as well as the Waikato Times.

“Stuff mastheads are committed to beautifully told New Zealand stories and North & South has been delivering those for the past 38 years,” she says.

“We both value our subscribers deeply and this new partnership unlocks even more brilliant content for audiences who pay for quality journalism.

“The North & South content complements the extensive news, analysis, features and visual journalism of The Post, The Press and the Waikato Times.

“Since we launched our digital mastheads just 16 months ago, we have seen the near doubling of audience reach for our dailies and the growth of The Post as a national politics, policy and business must-read. We are continuing to build new value for our subscribers every day.”

The partnership leverages the combined digital readership of The Post, The Press and the Waikato Times which collectively reach more than 750,000* New Zealanders, enabling North & South to connect with a broader audience.

Greg Partington, owner of Waitapu Group, which includes School Road Publishing and acquired North & South in 2023, says: “Partnering with Stuff Group allows us to share North & South’s rich heritage with readers across New Zealand. North & South has been a staple of Kiwi journalism, providing deep dives into the issues that matter. This collaboration ensures our well-loved magazine reaches an even broader audience, bringing its compelling and insightful journalism to more New Zealanders.”

Stuff also publishes some of New Zealand’s best read magazines including NZ House & Garden, Sunday magazine, TV Guide, NZ Gardener and Your Weekend.
