Stuff Group was awarded 11 of the country’s top journalism prizes - including the coveted Digital
News Provider of the Year for the second year running - at the Voyager Media Awards on Friday night.
Stuff.co.nz’s Editor-in-chief Keith Lynch was named Editorial Leader of the Year.

Judges said Stuff’s commitment to video, new technology and agile storytelling set it apart in a
fiercely competed field which included finalists nzherald.co.nz and rnz.co.nz. The news came just a
day before latest Nielsen results showed a consistent audience gap between Stuff and its nearest
competitor - in April, 2,316,000* Kiwis chose stuff.co.nz for their news and content, 417,000 more
than the next news site.

Stuff Owner and Publisher Sinead Boucher said New Zealand media delivers impactful journalism
which tells unique Kiwi stories, something global social media platforms can never replace.
“What we see with all of the Voyager winners is a commitment to local storytelling that is critical to life
in New Zealand. This can only be achieved with the support of our commercial partners, subscribers
and supporters who ensure we can continue to deliver journalism which has a tangible impact on the
lives of all New Zealanders.”

Stuff’s other awards on the night included Political Writer of the Year for The Post’s Andrea Vance;
Best Investigation and Best Scoop categories for Stuff journalist Steve Kilgallon who broke the story
of former Green MP Darlene Tana; Photographer of the Year (Iain McGregor, The Press); Cartoonist of
the Year (Sharon Murdoch, The Post and The Press) and Feature Writer of the Year (Charlie Mitchell,
The Press).

Judges said Lynch stood out in the Editorial Leader of the Year category: “Not only was he
impressive as a leader, but he also had a strong strategic future vision for Stuff focused on bringing
high quality journalism to life in ways that made it distinctive from other news offerings in the market.”
